Damiana is used to treat headache, bedwetting, depression, nervous stomach, and constipation; for prevention and treatment of sexual problems; boosting and maintaining mental and physical stamina; and as an aphrodisiac. Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is reported to be an aphrodisiac, stimulant, mood elevator, and “tonic,” and has been in use in the United States since 1874. studies found that damiana might ease anxiety and lower blood sugar levels. Lab research has found that damiana may fight bacteria. It is sometimes used as a diuretic or laxative.
